If you are after a wilderness fishing experience in relative solitude then this is the trip for you. Enjoy the privacy of the pristine coastal estuaries, rivers and streams amidst spectacular scenery while encountering captivating wildlife. In West Falkland, lodge at Port Howard; one of the best places to stay for sea trout fishing on the Warrah and Chartres rivers. Then to East Falkland and the capital of Stanley, to see what you can lure out of the Murrell and San Carlos rivers. Throughout the tour relax in the warmth of comfortable lodges and cottages offering genuine Falklands hospitality and delicious fare. The sea trout season runs from 1 September to 30 April. Catches in the rivers are heavily influenced by rainfall with ideal spate conditions likely in September/October and March/April.


Day 1

Darwin

Arrive at Mount Pleasant International Airport via LAN Chile. Transfer overland to Darwin/Goose Green settlement for overnight stay at Darwin House, a most comfortable lodge located by the sheltered waters of Choiseul Sound  for 1 night’s accommodation on a Full Board basis.


Day 2, 3, 4, 5

Port Howard

Transfer to Stanley Airport for internal FIGAS (Falkland Islands Government Air Service) flight to Port Howard 4 nights accommodation on a full board basis. Packed lunches will be supplied for your fishing excursions.

Your ghillie from Port Howard Lodge will drive you in a 4×4 to spend the day fishing the Sound (estuary) or the Warrah and Chartres rivers. Locations chosen will depend upon the time of year, water levels and general fishing conditions.


Day 6 

Stanley

Internal flight to Stanley and transfer to the Malvina House Hotel for 2 nights accommodation on a B&B basis – Afternoon at leisure


Day 7

Full day Fishing excursion

Full day fishing excursion with driver/ghillie to your choice of the following: – The Murrell, The Frying Pan or the San Carlos River – packed lunch will be provided.


Day 8

Departure transfer from your accommodation in Stanley to Mount Pleasant International Airport (MPN)
